SAN vs NAS: SAN (Storage Area Network) and NAS (Network Attached Storage) are two different storage solutions. SAN is a high-speed network providing block-level storage, ideal for large-scale, performance-intensive applications, often used in data centers. NAS, on the other hand, is a device connected to a network offering file-level storage, making it easy to share files across multiple devices. While SAN is suited for high-performance requirements, NAS is preferred for its simplicity and cost-effectiveness in storing and sharing files.
