Chevron has been a popular pattern and style for generations. Grand Oak Monarch has its origins in Ancient Greece, but as a flooring style, it may be traced back to the Norman elite's culture in Medieval France. Chevron, along with Herringbone, a similar type of parquetry, has risen in favour among the French since the Middle Ages.
