Some wipes, such as those containing benzalkonium chloride, have been certified solely for the purpose of killing microorganisms. They might not be as effective against viruses. Bacteria, viruses, and mold should be killed by sanitize 19 using wipes labeled "disinfectant." On its website, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) maintains a list of approved disinfectants.
