10 Simple Tips for Writing Content for a Website

These tips are focused on helping people who put up texts for a website. They are advised, and not law, they function as a guide. Almost always in companies, it is the personnel of the marketing or communication department who raise these texts, and many times they do it thinking in the same way that they would for an offline medium.(Content Writing Service)

10 SIMPLE TIPS:

  1. Know which  audience  the text is addressed to and write it accordingly

  2. Use  direct, simple and concise language

  3. Limit sentences to a maximum of 20 words

  4. Limit sentences to one idea per paragraph

  5. Limit paragraphs to a maximum of 5 lines

  6. Organize content according to the inverted pyramid style — from highest to lowest interest

  7. Write in plain and simple language   — close to spoken language

  8. Use the  active voice; avoid the use of jargon and cliches (when using acronyms, give the full version); use expressive verbs

  9. Abbreviate the text omitting words that do not provide meaning, for example, "as we had previously said"

  10. Make reading easier by leaving plenty of blank spaces and avoiding the use of different fonts except for subtitles

 ADDITIONAL TIPS:

  • Choose meaningful headlines and subtitles to divide the text and facilitate navigation

  • Avoid long blocks of gray text using bulleted lists

  • Check the text to make sure there are no grammatical or spelling errors

PLUS...

1. Title:  Writing headlines for the Web is not the same as for printed texts. The amount of information available on a screen is limited, unlike a newspaper or magazine that allows the headline, photograph, legend, download, or deck (explanatory secondary headline) and the body of the article to be viewed at the same time. The title is what will make the reader stay in your article or section, and you have seconds to do it.

2. Body:  Use short sentences, bulleted lists, and subtitles:  Most people do not read Web pages linearly. Rather they explore them looking for areas of interest and using links they jump from one site to another. This leaves the writer with little or no control over how the reader will approach her material. So it is important that the document is easily scannable.

3. Graphics:  A good text must be accompanied by good graphics. Images help make reading more enjoyable and can draw the reader's attention a lot. If we think as web readers, we always tend to associate an image with an Article Writing Service.

4. Links:  It is important to always make cross-links within the texts. For example, if you are listing products, each of these should have a link to the product section. In articles, if applicable, relevant links must be provided that support its text or that provide more descriptions of it.

5. SEO:  Our content must be thinking about search engine optimization. For this, we must use keywords with a density of 3/100 words. Keywords must be included in titles, subtitles, and in the first paragraph of text. It is not necessary to abuse since the finders realize.
