Professional stability is one of the biggest concerns of so-called "millennials", those young people born between the 80s and 90s, according to the latest Deloitte report . While last year almost half valued the possibility of leaving their job in less than two years, this time only 38% have in mind to change jobs in that period of time. In addition, now only 7% of them consider that they would leave their work soon compared to 17% last year. For the 8,000 respondents, the preferred contractual formula is full-time work, mainly because of the salary and labor stability that it generates. Among the reasons that justify this loyalty to the company is the political and social uncertainty that is being experienced. Regarding the characteristics of their work, 64% of young people would prefer to have a flexible work location , a fact favored by technology. Another aspect analyzed by Deloitte is the future prospects of young people residing in emerging and developed countries where the former are more optimistic than the latter. 36% of respondents believe that the political and social situation of their countries will improve in the next year, a figure that drops to 25% in the case of developed countries and rises to 48% in emerging countries. Among the most pessimistic countries are: South Korea, Mexico, Belgium, France, Chile, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia and Italy. The main reason for this difference is that young people in emerging countries have greater certainty that they will be able to live better than their parents while millennials in developed countries are considered the generation in which things stopped going well. Unemployment and job uncertainty remain a major concern among young people who lived through the latest economic crisis. However, terrorism is a major concern in more than half of the countries analyzed. How are essay skills useful in professional life? Prepare Yourself for the New Corporate World UK is the only country with a developed economy that is among the countries where unemployment worries more than terrorism.
